Aplicación
skillp.in

Re: Very interesting

Hey cuiki, thanks for your feedback. And expect big improvements after the public poll is over! :)
Sutto
A very, very cool app and beautiful as well. I found the simple 1 page design works astoundinly well for that. That said, it feels like a big flaw that I can't manually specify the location (e.g. it'd be useful to find cool people to meet in new places before visiting) and that filtering itself is lacking.
The process of adding myself was incredibly simple but could use improvement - namely, the use of an alert box felt very out of place with the rest of the design - definitely not subtle as I was expecting. Likewise, I didn't realise I had to wait for an email to show up - I only happened to check them after. A little bit of textual description around that would really help.

Hey Darcy,
Thanks for your feedback. And yes, that part of the alert box was lame, but we were in a hurry. I'm sorry that we didn't have enough time to localize it in english, will do it for sure later.
I'm glad you liked it.

Well, it seems everything has already been said here, even though I'd like to second the comment of cuiki about a way to find good people instead of just finding people.
My only suggestion would be:
1. Open the "Ver Más Repositorios" link in a new window
2. Order the results by recent activity.
3. Change the position of the pin by clicking a place in the map instead of dragging it.
Congrats!

Awesome Rafael, thanks for your feedback.
Woohoo!

I could finally find people that I care of, developers, and I second all comments already posted, nice design, single page, great idea.

Muy fregón, me gustaron mucho las gráficas. Y la facilidad de uso, muchas felicidades.
Me gustaría poder tener un widget de embedded para poner en mi sitio =)

Gracias Fede, esa es una excelente idea! La implementaremos pronto :)
Comments on the App

Very nice idea, i got the request to share my location and add myself to the map, got success msg but just did not get it working. not a big problem.
ideas for improvements, the dialog is very similar to the main ui, why not just use the main ui to add myself.
If looking for people near me is the main idea, why not use the arrow to expand the map, and use the marks to see who are those people, how about a lil interaction with the people, maybe chat or send comments. looks like a mini geek location based network, why not give features to build the network.
generally the idea has a very good potential, i see the people, now what?
provide a solution to that question and you have a winner.

Hi Fernando,
About the location, it seems like sometimes when Google cannot find your location, it sets it to an invalid coordinates... It shouldn't be a big deal, whenever we enable you to type your location, and perhaps, as you said another way to enter your address (using the main ui, maybe).
It's not an excuse, but we had the idea to send messages to other users. But we didn't complete that part. So we removed temporarily that part.
We are still planning a bigger set of features, so we can offer a better product. But keeping the idea of being an aggregator and having a simple interface.
Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it!
Nice

I like it, looks nice and seems to work properly to fulfill its purpose. I'll give more feedback when I get the chance to use it thoroughly.

I love the idea and the design only something i don't like is that the user boxes don't get updated with your latest git results, dribble screenshots, etc...
Wish you all the best :)

Very interesting
cuiki
Really interesting project. I believe that everything is revolving correctly around what you say this is. A service to find designers and developers, just that though.
Comments:
- Would have liked to see a location input field as well, not just part from my current location. Since you say you decided to remove the limits from just Mexico, it would have been good to have a quick way to start searching from a different location.
- When clicking on a pin, there is no visual feedback on what happens, specially when using a small screen, no idea that the users below got selected. Selected user is many times not even visible because it is down the page. Auto scroll would have been cool here.
- The no results message blends in too much with the background. It is a regular text that calls no attention making the user look for something because from the first instance it is not obvious.
- If you are centering only on designers and developers a filtering feature would have been cool. Just find designers or front end or back end devs. Think about it.
- A refresh feedback visual is needed since new data is displayed every time a user moves the map, results are constantly updating you don't know who left the results and who appeared.
Now, the introduction I made above revolves around the fact the despite this is a good idea and an excellent first try it yet not steps forward into the biggest problem we face when looking for designers or developers. The problem is not to find people, its finding out if they are good! We are ultimately looking to find GOOD people to work with, not just finding people. There are already many sites that help you find people. You guys have a good shot of this being ultra popular if you find a way to show this valuable information in your results. Maybe through social media, user ratings or something. Its just something to think about. I hope it helps you. Let me know how it went!
